Photographer's Assistant

Nola Treasured Memories LLC is a professional, creative photography business based in Belle Chasse, Louisiana. We create meaningful portrait experiences and provide high-quality photo products for our clients.

We are seeking a dependable, personable Photographer Assistant to support our lead photographer during studio, school, and on-location photo sessions. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys photography, working with people, staying organized, and helping create a smooth experience from scheduling through photo delivery.

We provide on-the-job training, but you must be reliable, willing to learn, comfortable interacting with customers, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Pay and schedule;

• Starting pay: From $8.00 per hour
• Employment type: part-time / seasonal
• Schedule: Day shifts, Monday through Friday, with select weekends. Some evenings depending on scheduled events: festivals, weddings, and other celebrations.
• Work locations: Studio, local schools, and on-location photo sessions throughout the area.
• Work environment: Modern office/studio setting.
• Attire varies: casual, seasonally festive, business casual.
• Flexible scheduling when available, training, growth opportunities, and a collaborative team atmosphere.

What you’ll do;

• Assist the lead photographer before, during, and after photo sessions.
• Help schedule customer appointments, communicate with clients, and coordinate consultations.
• Prepare the studio and photo-session areas, including organizing backdrops, props, lighting, cameras, and other equipment.
• Load, unload, unpack, and set up photography and lighting equipment at off-site locations.
• Help scout and prepare photo-session locations; assist with location logistics and permits when assigned.
• Welcome clients and provide friendly, professional customer service.
• Assist clients with posing and positioning during sessions, following the photographer’s direction.
• Support basic lighting, camera, and equipment needs under the lead photographer’s guidance.
• Process payments and maintain timely, professional communication with clients.
• Prepare proof images, assist with online photo galleries or distribution, and help organize completed client projects.
• Prepare professional print orders and package them for client pickup, shipping, or delivery.
• Keep equipment, supplies, workspaces, and client materials organized and handled with care.

What we’re looking for;

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• A genuine interest in photography, visual storytelling, color, style, and creative work.
• Strong customer-service and communication skills.
• A friendly, patient, professional manner when working with children, families, schools, and other clients.
• Good organization, time-management, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Comfort using computers and learning photo-ordering, gallery, scheduling, and communication software.
• Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a small team.
• Reliable transportation to report to the studio and travel to local session locations.
• Availability for occasional evenings, weekends, and outdoor sessions.
• Ability to work outdoors in Louisiana heat, cold, or changing weather conditions when needed.
• Ability to safely lift, carry, and set up photography equipment.
• Ability to pass a drug screening.

Preferred, but not required;

• Previous experience in photography, customer service, retail, events, schools, childcare, or hospitality.
• Familiarity with cameras, lighting equipment, photo editing, online galleries, or print-order fulfillment.
• Experience working with children, families, or school staff.
