About The Position
- Provides proactive technical administration, planning, coordination, documentation, and management reporting for business intelligence platforms throughout the organization.
- Coordinates business intelligence platform project and support activities. Contributes to report design and development to help ensure optimal performance.
- Perform system monitoring and tuning, report object backup and restore, proactive system maintenance, report SQL tuning, and the planning and installation of platform upgrades and patches.
- Manages BI platform security, including development and monitoring of policies and procedures. Administers user rights and license management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performs administration activities related to hundreds of reporting and visualization capabilities.
- Ensures high availability, reliability, consistently high throughput and system performance, and high levels of customer service and trust.
- Performs system tuning and performance monitoring, and troubleshoots and resolves performance issues with a high level of urgency.
- Maintain, and support production server and other non-production environments for upgrades, bug fixes, and patching.
- Coordinate & Support application releases and configuration management.
- Provide escalated technical support for complex technical issues which may include leading problem management cases and providing management status.
- Ensures security and the compliance of regulations by protecting the confidentiality of information within the environment by preventing unauthorized access to information.
- Assists with capital procurement by providing expert consultation on system sizing and license growth, software installations and upgrades.
- Proactively researches, consults, and recommends technology enhancements, always seeking continuous improvement.
- Partners with database administrators, developers, management, system users and software/hardware vendors.
- Builds an understanding of existing systems, databases, and procedures and follows corporate policies when executing projects
- Applies best practices and established procedures to analyze data and identify trends
- Assists in ongoing maintenance and support of reporting and analytics applications
- Engages with business stakeholders to develop an understanding of their operations and define how analytics can solve key business problems
- Demonstrates a bias for action by hitting deadlines, communicating with project stakeholders, and producing polished outputs
- Partners effectively with other departments to fully define analytics requirements for solving business problems, sometimes going beyond the initial ask of business colleagues
- Mentors less experienced co-workers
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in mathematics, statistics, computer science or business
- 5 years of relevant experience
- Master’s and/or Ph.D. in a technical discipline e.g., engineering, mathematics, statistics, finance/economics or business management) may replace a maximum of 2 years of experience.
- Strong technical expertise in PowerBI and OBIEE/OAC
- PowerBI admin experience is preferred.
- Relational databases and writing queries (SQL)
Pay: $60.00 - $65.00 per hour
