Position Overview:
The Engineer Intern / Inspector will assist in inspection work and CAD design,
contributing to various design projects under the supervision of licensed professionals.
This role is ideal for a certified Engineer Intern (EI) with an eagerness to learn, strong
CAD skills, and a passion for building design and systems.
Responsibilities:
Assist in structural and architectural inspections using construction plans and
specifications.
Execute drafting and design tasks using CAD software.
Provide calculations and design support across structural, architectural, and MEP
projects.
Generate professional reports, proposals, and design documentation.
Manage daily tasks independently while meeting project deadlines.
Maintain client and project communication with professionalism and accuracy.
Required Qualifications:
Certified Engineer Intern (EI)
Minimum of 3 years of CAD and structural detailing experience
Strong ability to read and interpret construction documents
Proficiency in written communication for reports and emails
Working knowledge of Florida Building Code and local ordinances (e.g.,
Municode)
Must have a personal vehicle with active insurance (mileage reimbursed for
project travel)
Must own a laptop/tablet with Microsoft Office for field and remote work
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous drafting and design experience in structural or related fields
3D modeling experience using SketchUp, Autodesk, or similar tools
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Experience with engineering design software (e.g., STAAD, E-Tabs, HAP, etc.)
Conversational Spanish is a plus
