What are the responsibilities and job description for the Temporary Laborer – Solid Waste Collection position at Nohat Industries?
Job Duties:
- Ride on the back of a rear‐load refuse truck.
- Collect municipal solid waste, recycling, and yard waste carts.
- Assist with bulky household waste collection.
- Operate hydraulic controls to tip carts and compact waste.
- Work in all types of Texas weather.
- Hours and start locations will vary depending on operational needs.
Safety Requirements:
- Follow all City of Denton Solid Waste safety protocols.
- Maintain situational awareness around vehicles, heavy equipment, traffic, and hydraulic systems.
- Follow safe riding procedures when on the rear‐load truck.
- Use proper lifting techniques and avoid unsafe handling of heavy materials.
- Stay hydrated and follow heat‐related safety precautions.
- Report all injuries, incidents, or unsafe conditions immediately.
- Follow all route and yard safety rules, including staying clear of the hopper during compaction.
Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
