Position Overview

Noel Technologies, a leading provider of specialty thin film deposition and precision surface processing services, is seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Maintenance and Equipment Technician to join our team in Campbell, CA.

The ideal candidate is experienced in semiconductor equipment with ability in troubleshooting to identify problems in manufacturing process equipment.

NOTE: This position is initially offered on a contract to hire basis, employment may be concluded at any time during this period. This arrangement provides an opportunity for both the candidate and Noel Technologies to assess mutual fit. Successful candidates may be considered for conversion to a permanent employee status following the completion of the contract period.

Shift Schedule

  • Monday-Friday, from 9:00pm-4:30am

Training Schedule

  • Monday-Friday, from 4:00am-12:30pm

Responsibilities

  • Maintain/Repair semiconductor equipment, diffusion furnaces specializing in MRL & Thermco Furnaces.
  • Reference equipment service manual diagrams; electrical, electronic, pneumatic, cooling water, & PLC control.
  • Utilize diagnostic equipment to monitor equipment performance, diagnose root cause, and make reliability improvement recommendations.
  • Review down time causes and root cause problems. Implement repairs addressing repeat problems. Convey fact base information.
  • Conduct new equipment hands-on preventive maintenance. Transfer pm actions in written form for PM check lists.
  • Performs set-up, calibration, preventative & predictive maintenance on equipment such as PECVD, PVD, Nitride & Oxide Furnaces, Sputtering, Etchers and Coaters.
  • Ability to recognize problems and develop solutions
  • Parts support; locate spare/tool down parts, obtain quotes/justify cost. Set min-max levels and part numbering. Assist Purchasing.
  • Skilled use of test equipment DVM, O-scopes, AMP meters, Helium leak detectors, Temperature calibration instruments,
  • Electrical; hands-on 110/208/480 testing power distribution, induction motor speed control, mech/dry/blower pump replacements.
  • Use Semiconductor standard PPE for hazardous gas, chemical, and solvent. Utilize Lock Out Tag Out safety measures.
  • Use Continuous Improvement methodologies to identify equipment problems and equipment installations.
  • Maintain proper documentation records for scheduled and completed maintenance activities
  • Other relevant duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience or Associates/Technical degree or equivalent.
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel
  • Experience in working with Wet Benches maintaining, pumps, controllers
  • Experience in testing and replacing MFC’s
  • Knowledge working with HVAC, Chillers, Air Handlers, repairing and preventative maintenance schedules maintaining pumps, compressors and controllers.
  • Experience with changing out gas cylinders, receiving and returning cylinders from vendors, and following all safety protocol.
  • Knowledge of Noel’s I-Track System (Custom Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
  • Knowledge of Noel’s I-Track On-line Quality system for ISO (International Standards Organization) and entire training and tracking system.
  • Experience on working on Siltec/Speedfam/Gigamat Wafer Polishing Equipment
  • Known as organized, with strong attention-to-details for accuracy and self-motivated
  • Team player; lead or assist proactive and/or reactive support approach for equipment problem solving
  • Communicate effectively with fellow employees to solve complex issues
  • Must be detailed oriented, fast paced, organized and have the ability to work in a multi-task environment requiring a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to recognize problems and develop solutions
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, attention to detail, excels in analytical thinking
  • Established verbal and written skills communicating with production mgmt, process engineers, and technicians for pass down of daily activities, resolve manufacturing interruptions, inconsistent process results, and equipment downtime.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to work in a wafer fab environment and wear full cover hood, smock, safety glasses, cleanroom gloves, face mask, and required shoes.
  • Physical demand: Often handles loads up to 25 lbs. Occasionally handles loads up to ≤ 50 lbs. Requires continuous walking and standing, standing
  • on feet for long periods of time, constantlyusing arms & hands in a repetitive motion to hold, control wafers and/or equipment.
  • Working with/around hazardous chemicals – proper safety precautions must be strictly followed per Company policies.
  • Ability to identify dangerous and unsafe conditions in operations and notify management immediately so that corrective action can be taken.
  • Comply with Noel’s Safety Policies and Procedures and IIPP (Injury and Illness Prevention Plan) safety practices.
  • To wear proper PPE while working in a fab environment.

Pay: $27.00 - $37.00 per hour
