Job Summary:
The BCBA Student Trainee provides direct behavioral support services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities under the supervision of a BCBA. This role focuses on implementing behavior support plans, collecting and analyzing data, and helping individuals build meaningful skills that increase independence and quality of life.
This position is ideal for individuals currently enrolled in, or planning to pursue, a Master’s program in Applied Behavior Analysis or a related field. BCBA Student Trainees gain hands-on clinical experience while working toward professional advancement into BCaBA or BCBA roles.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Duties and Responsibilities:
Direct Support & Implementation
- Implement individualized behavior support plans developed by the BCBA
- Provide direct 1:1 support to individuals in a variety of settings (group homes, natural homes, workplaces, and community environments)
- Teach replacement skills and adaptive behaviors to support independence
- Assist in reducing maladaptive behaviors using ethical, evidence-based practices
Data Collection & Documentation
- Collect accurate and timely data on target behaviors and skill acquisition
- Maintain detailed documentation of services provided
- Assist in summarizing and reporting data to the supervising BCBA
Collaboration & Team Support
- Work closely with BCBAs, BCaBAs, direct support staff, and interdisciplinary teams
- Assist in training staff on behavior support strategies and interventions
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to treatment planning discussions
Professional Development
- Participate in supervision and mentorship opportunities
- Complete supervised fieldwork hours (if applicable)
- Engage in ongoing training and development in ABA practices
Required Skills/Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, or related field required
- Enrollment in, or intent to enroll in, a Master’s program in ABA
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for long periods while using a computer or attending meetings
- Proficiency in using office equipment such as computers, printers, and phones
- Ability to verbally communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and board members
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, such as office supplies or files
- Ability to maintain focus and productivity during a standard workday
- Must be clean of all illegal substances and marijuana

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
