Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Assist dentists during various procedures, including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric dentistry treatments.
- Take and develop X-rays, ensuring proper safety procedures are followed.
- Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform chairside assisting using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
- Monitor vital signs and medical imaging as needed for patient assessments.
- Educate patients on oral health care and post-treatment instructions.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment following aseptic techniques and infection control standards.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing medical documentation or records when necessary.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure comprehensive care delivery, including pediatrics when applicable.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic setting.
- Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is preferred.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques.
- Ability to perform X-ray imaging safely and accurately; certification in radiography is advantageous.
- Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
- Experience with pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, or general dentistry is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing medical records and documentation.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
