Duties
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kennels, treatment areas, and equipment to promote animal health and safety
- Assist veterinary technicians and veterinarians with animal handling during examinations, treatment
- Support with animal restraint techniques to ensure safe procedures for pets and staff
- Handle pet care tasks such as feeding, and providing comfort to animals in our care
- Able to lift 40 lbs
- General housekeeping duties
- Laundry
- restocking of supplies
Requirements
- Prior kennel experience or animal handling background preferred; experience with veterinary clinics is a plus
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and behavior is highly desirable
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills for interacting with clients and team members effectively
- Commitment to animal welfare and safety through proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to clinic protocols
- Willingness to learn new skills related to veterinary critical care, record keeping, and pet care procedures
