Role Summary
NHHRC, in partnership with Compunel, is seeking a Assistant Project Manager with strong technical editing expertise to support a fast-paced environment. This role requires the ability to manage multiple projects, ensure high-quality editorial standards, and adapt content for diverse audiences including consumer, business, academic, and government sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit and review technical, creative, and marketing content for clarity, accuracy, and consistency
- Ensure all materials meet established editorial, technical, and brand standards
- Adapt content for both expert and general audiences
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting varying deadlines
- Interpret complex technical information and translate it into clear, compelling content
- Apply style guidelines including AP Style and Chicago Manual of Style
- Format and edit documents with accessibility best practices in mind
- Maintain consistency through use of style sheets and editorial guidelines
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project deliverables
Qualifications
- Proven technical editing skills
- Strong analytical, planning, organizational, and time management abilities
- Superior command of the English language, including grammar and usage
- Experience editing for multiple writing styles (technical, creative, marketing)
- Ability to shift focus quickly while maintaining consistent editing standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Word
- Advanced editing and formatting skills in Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat
- Working knowledge of document accessibility standards
- Experience managing multiple priorities with speed, accuracy, and sound judgment
- Demonstrated integrity, strong work ethic, and intellectual curiosity
- Technical background
- Experience working with diverse audiences (consumer, business, academic, government)
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing, Communications, or related field and minimum of 3 years of relevant business experience
OR - Bachelor's degree in an unrelated field with at least 5 years of directly relevant experience
