Job Title: CDL Driver - Class B
Reports to: Distribution Manager
Location: Albany, NY
Compensation: Hourly Non-Exempt $28.00 - $32.00 commensurate with experience and qualifications
Position Summary
The CDL Driver - Class B is the face of Noble Gas Solutions, LLC at customer locations. This position is responsible for the safe, timely delivery and pickup of compressed gas cylinders while providing exceptional customer service. Operating a company-provided truck, the driver ensures customers receive the products they need safely, accurately, and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely deliver compressed gas cylinders to Noble Gas Solutions, LLC customers on a set route and schedule; return empty cylinders for refilling.
- Provide excellent customer service, including answering questions related to products, ordering, and delivery times.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including load manifests, barcodes, FDA lot numbers, and shipping records; ensure proper reconciliation of all documents.
- Operate and drive trucks with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of over 26,000 lbs. safely and effectively.
- Maintain a positive, “can-do” attitude.
- Perform miscellaneous tasks and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Driver’s License with HAZMAT endorsement.
- No moving violations, DUI, or DWI convictions within the past 7 years.
- Valid DOT medical certificate.
- Certificate from an accredited truck driving school and completion of Entry Level Driver Training program required if less than one (1) year of experience operating trucks with GVW over 26,000 lbs.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and DOT regulations.
- Ability to transport hazardous cargo and drive for up to 8 hours per day, with flexibility for extended hours as needed.
- Ability to read and interpret material safety data sheets (MSDS).
- Skilled in maneuvering and parking large trucks.
- Alert, focused, and detail-oriented with strong stress management skills.
- Dependable, disciplined, and resourceful.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
Safety Requirements
- Promptly report safety hazards to management or the safety department.
- Follow all Noble Gas Solutions, LLC and customer safety policies and procedures.
- Immediately report all incidents, accidents, or injuries to HR and management.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Refuse and report any unsafe tasks or conditions.
- Participate in required safety meetings and training sessions.
- Maintain constant awareness of personal and coworker safety.
Physical Demands
- Ability to hold scanning devices, drive, and sit or stand for extended periods.
- Frequent stooping, crouching, reaching, climbing, kneeling, and repetitive motion.
- Regularly lift 25 to 75 lbs; occasionally lift 76 to 100 lbs.
- Push and pull wheeled containers weighing up to 1,000 lbs.
- Tighten ratchet binders multiple times daily.
- Ability to identify and differentiate between various scents.
- Work in various weather conditions.
- Adapt quickly to changes in route or schedule.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Standard workdays are at least 8 hours, with additional hours as required to complete deliveries.
