Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a truck mechanic or diesel mechanic with a focus on heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, braking systems, drive trains, suspensions, and axles.
  • Ability to safely lift and carry heavy weights regularly.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean safety record.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification from a recognized diesel mechanic or automotive technician program.
  • Experience working with computerized diagnostic tools and software.
  • Familiarity with federal and state transportation safety regulations.
  • Previous experience in a fleet maintenance environment.
  • Additional training in advanced diesel engine repair or hybrid diesel technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on diesel trucks, including brake systems, drive trains, suspensions, and axles.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems using specialized tools and equipment, and execute necessary repairs efficiently.
  • Inspect vehicles to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards, documenting all maintenance and repairs.
  • Lift and carry heavy parts and equipment safely while adhering to workplace safety protocols.
