Overview
We are an ecommerce company operating across multiple online sales channels and warehouses. We are seeking a Warehouse Operations Manager to run daily warehouse execution while working closely with the owner, who will be remote part of the day.
This is not a desk-only job and not a passive management role. This position requires someone who can seamlessly switch between computer-based operational work and hands-on warehouse leadership.
You will oversee all packers, manage daily fulfillment flow, handle customer service issues, and maintain inventory accuracy across systems and physical locations.
If you are not comfortable with both technology and being active on the warehouse floor, this role is not a fit.
Responsibilities
- Warehouse Operations & Team Oversight
- Directly manage and oversee all packers
Systems, Technology & Inventory
- Work daily on a computer using systems such as:
- ShipStation
- Shopify
- Marketplace dashboards (Amazon, Walmart, eBay, etc.)
- Inventory and fulfillment tools
- Excel / Google Sheets
- Scan inventory, update bin locations, map SKUs, and maintain clean product data
- Receive incoming deliveries and update inventory promptly
- Manage outgoing shipments and carrier coordination
- Transfer inventory between warehouses as needed (must have a valid driver's license)
Sales Channels & Ecommerce Operations
- Be comfortable working across multiple sales channels, including:
- Shopify
- Amazon Seller Central
- Walmart Marketplace
- eBay
- Understand how orders, SKUs, inventory, tracking, cancellations, and refunds flow across different platforms
- Identify and flag discrepancies between sales channels, shipping systems, and physical inventory
- Coordinate fulfillment execution across all channels accurately and consistently
Customer Service (Critical Responsibility)
- Handle customer communication daily (primarily online)
- Respond to:
- Order questions
- Complaints
- Refunds and partial credits
- Shipping issues
- Communicate clearly, professionally, and empathetically with customers
- Resolve issues independently while escalating patterns or edge cases to the owner
Reporting & Communication
- Report directly to the owner daily
- Communicate clearly about:
- Fulfillment status
- Issues on the floor
- Inventory discrepancies
- Customer service trends
- Work independently without constant oversight
- Assign daily work, manage pacing, and ensure orders ship accurately and on time
- Correct packers in real time when errors or inefficiencies occur
- Enforce packing standards, workflows, and accuracy expectations
- Maintain a positive, respectful, and productive team environment
- Step in to assist with packing during high-volume periods when needed
Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)
- Strong comfort working on a computer daily
- Technical understanding of ecommerce and logistics, including:
- Shipping systems (ShipStation or similar)
- Shopify and marketplace platforms (Amazon, Walmart, eBay)
- SKUs, product listings, inventory tracking, order routing
- Basic Excel / Google Sheets
- Prior experience in warehouse operations, ecommerce fulfillment, or logistics
- Ability to manage people directly and enforce standards
- Friendly, respectful, and a strong team player
- Strong analytical skills with solid math understanding
- Quick on their feet; able to adapt and reprioritize in real time
- Creative problem solver who can think through edge cases independently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working independently while the owner is remote
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
