Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School Math Teacher to join our interdisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will foster a productive, safe, and focused learning environment while delivering rigorous mathematics instruction aligned with Ohio Standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Instructional Excellence: Design and implement engaging daily lesson plans that reflect observations and goals of individual students; teach up to 30 periods per week.
- Data-Driven Growth: Use frequent formative and summative assessments to drive instruction and provide timely, specific feedback to students.
- Differentiated Learning: Adapt materials and strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners, including those in multi-age settings.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a highly organized, safe, and respectful classroom environment using the Responsive Classroom model.
- Collaboration: Work with grade-level teams to align curricula and resolve student issues; participate in school-wide professional development and staff meetings.
- Communication: Facilitate regular parent/guardian communications and conferences to discuss academic and behavioral progress.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education or a related field.
- Licensure: Valid Ohio Middle Childhood (4-9) or Adolescent to Young Adult (7-12) Math License (or currently working toward licensure).
- Background: Must successfully pass BCI and FBI background checks.
- Mindset: A strong belief that all students can learn and a commitment to culturally responsive teaching practices.
