*Overview*
NobelClad is a world leader in explosion welding and is seeking an inspector certified in Ultrasonic Inspection (UT) to Level II per ASNT SNT-TC-1A.
The Inspector will conduct and interpret non-destructive examinations using ultrasonic testing (UT) methods on various metal alloys and components. They will perform an array of additional inspection steps including dimensional and liquid penetrant inspection to name a few. The role involves reading, interpreting and ensuring adherence to industry codes, client specifications, drawings and company procedures. The technician will be vital in upholding commitments to quality and safety.
This position reports to the Postbond Area Manager.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements will include:
- Conducting ultrasonic testing (UT), including shear wave, on a range of materials according to written procedures and customer specifications.
- Setting up and calibrating NDT equipment, ensuring accuracy and reliability during inspections.
- Interpreting and evaluating test results and preparing detailed reports documenting findings.
- Collaborating with engineering and quality control teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
- Providing guidance and mentorship to Level I technicians and trainees.
- Maintaining and troubleshooting NDT equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Adhering to safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Participating in continuous learning and professional development to stay updated with NDT advancements.
- Must be self-motivated

- Ensure that equipment and work area is maintained in a clean and safe manner
- Perform all other tasks or requirements as needed.
Experience in the following areas will also be a plus:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of documented experience working as a Level II UT Technician.

- Mechanical aptitude
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, proficiency in handling NDT equipment, excellent communication (written and verbal), ability to interpret codes and standards, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform repetitive movements.
