About the Role
HOURS ARE TUESDAY-SATURDAY 11AM-7PM
No Place Like Home is seeking a compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide Personal Support Services to an individual receiving DDA-funded supports in the Pikesville area. The ideal candidate will promote community integration, independence, and personal growth through meaningful daily living activities and participation in local events and programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily living activities including meal preparation, personal organization, and household routines.
- Encourage independence by helping the individual learn and maintain self-care and community navigation skills.
- Provide transportation and support to community outings such as classes, volunteer activities, and recreational events.
- Assist with communication, self-advocacy, and building positive relationships with peers and community members.
- Support educational goals, including participation in college classes and skill development.
- Promote a safe and respectful environment while upholding the individual’s rights and choices.
- Document daily activities, progress notes, and report any changes or concerns to the supervisor promptly.
- Collaborate with family members, team members, and the Service Coordinator to ensure consistent, person-centered support.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience providing direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid Maryland driver’s license, reliable transportation, and clean driving record.
- Ability to use basic technology (cell phone, tablet, computer) for communication and documentation.
- Strong communication skills, patience, and professionalism.
- Must pass background and reference checks.
