What are the responsibilities and job description for the Volunteer: 990 Tax Preparation position at No More A Stranger Foundation?
This is a volunteer opportunity provided by Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit creating social change through pro bono connections.
We are seaching for a volunteer CPA to prepare and file our IRS Form 990 for the year 2025 by the May 15, 2026 deadline. Our gross receipts for 2025 were between $200,000-$300,000. Specific documents and timelines can be confirmed during volunteer interviews.
At the No More A Stranger Foundation, we provide free, high-quality legal services to immigrants, migrants, and refugees navigating complex immigration systems—often during some of the most vulnerable times in their lives. Our mission is rooted in the belief that welcoming the stranger is not just a moral imperative, but a community-strengthening action.
We will provide prior-year Form 990, our accounting records, required information (such as board members, staff salary allocation, lobbying info, donor/donation details, etc.) and a primary staff contact to support the volunteer. We’re prepared to schedule regular check-ins, answer questions, and confirm timelines; final scope and document needs can be defined together during onboarding.
No More A Stranger Foundation Mission: Advocate together with and on behalf of individuals from immigrant, migrant, and refugee backgrounds, to strengthen our communities.
