Unbridled Pediatric Therapies | Pea Ridge, AR
Do you have experience working with horses and a passion for making a difference? Unbridled Pediatric Therapies is looking for a reliable, hardworking Horse Handler to join our team! This position plays a vital role in supporting our equine-assisted therapy program by caring for our horses, maintaining the barn and equipment, and leading horses during therapy sessions.
What You'll Do
- Provide daily care for our therapy horses, including feeding, watering, grooming, and monitoring their health.
- Clean and maintain stalls, pens, therapy fields, and the barn.
- Keep tack, equipment, and therapy materials clean, organized, and in safe working condition.
- Exercise and help prepare horses for therapy sessions.
- Safely lead and handle horses during equine-assisted therapy sessions.
- Assist therapists and clients during sessions as needed.
- Help manage barn supply inventory and purchase orders.
- Maintain a safe, welcoming environment for clients, families, and staff.
- Previous horse experience is required.
- Experience handling horses is preferred.
- Knowledge of tack and equipment maintenance is a plus.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a team.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all types of weather.
- Passion for serving children and families.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the day.
- Comfortable working around children and individuals with disabilities.
- Wednesday 7:30am-5:00pm (with occasional weekend flexibility for special events or horse needs)
- $16–$20 per hour, based on experience.
