Role Description
This is a part-time, on-site Instructor role based in Detroit, MI. The Instructor will deliver engaging, hands-on STEM lessons, facilitate collaborative activities, and support the academic and social-emotional growth of students. Responsibilities include curriculum delivery, creating a nurturing learning environment, and collaborating with team members to ensure the holistic development of students. The Instructor will also assist in preparing and organizing materials for activities and actively contribute to developing students' confidence, curiosity, and critical thinking skills.
Qualifications
- Experience in STEM subjects such as science, technology, engineering, or math, and a passion for teaching and inspiring young learners.
- Strong communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to integrate Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) principles into teaching practices to foster empathy, teamwork, and self-awareness.
- Organizational and creative skills to design and deliver hands-on, engaging educational activities and lessons.
- Prior experience or knowledge of educational trends and practices, especially within STEM education, is a plus.
- Relevant degree or certification in education, STEM fields, or related disciplines preferred.
- Passion for working with children and contributing to their personal and academic growth in a collaborative, diverse environment.
