Job Summary
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable STEM Class Instructors to lead hands‑on STEM activities for elementary and middle‑school students in Omer, Michigan and Bay City, Michigan. This role is ideal for educators, youth workers, or STEM‑savvy professionals who enjoy engaging students in fun, structured learning experiences.
This is not a full‑time or summer camp role—instead, instructors are booked for individual school‑day sessions on an as‑needed basis throughout the year. Our first confirmed sessions are May 11 and 12, 2026, with additional dates offered as schools schedule programming.
Responsibilities
- Lead a group of approximately 20 students through a pre‑planned STEM activity
- Facilitate hands‑on learning using the materials and curriculum provided
- Create a positive, encouraging, and safe classroom environment
- Manage student behavior and maintain smooth flow of the activity
- Represent our organization professionally while working in partner schools
- Communicate any needs, concerns, or feedback before or after each session
Experience & Qualifications
- Experience working with children (teaching, tutoring, youth programs, childcare, etc.)
- Ability to engage and manage a classroom of students
- Comfort leading hands‑on STEM activities (training provided)
- Strong communication and classroom‑presence skills
- Background in education, early childhood, STEM fields, or youth development preferred
