JOB SUMMARY
Export Supervisor is responsible for coordinating the Air and Ocean export operational activities of the branch office with a view to maintaining competitiveness and to increasing market share and becoming an integral and profitable region of NNR/USA by performing the following duties:
Duties & Functions
Essential:
• Directly supervises the Export Department staff.
• Assist in creating and implementing operational procedure for the Export Department.
• Assist in analyzing warehouse procedures to insure they meet OSHA standards.
• Assist in implementing and training export staff on FAA safety regulations as developed by the Head Office.
• Oversee warehouse handling of freight.
• Ensure proper export documentation preparation to comply with US Department of Commerce and US Treasury Department regulations.
• Disseminate new FMC regulations received from Head Office and review shipments to insure they comply with FMC regulations.
• Monitor and review NVOCC tariff filings for the branch office.
• Ensure the daily export operation is performed within the procedures, work instructions and follow NNR’s quality system policy.
• Monitor Key performance indicators on a daily, weekly and monthly basis and take action when they fall below set parameters.
• Liaise with the managers to determine, and if necessary, adjust local operation policy within corporate policy.
• Assist in maintaining ISO standards and perform internal audits under ISO if applicable.
• Follow NNR’s quality system policy and procedures.
• Prepare and/or check Letters of Credit for exporting purposes.
• Oversee generation of export bills of lading.
• Close consolidations.
• Oversee Dangerous Goods shipments to comply with DOT, FAA and DOC regulations.
• Oversee live animal and perishable shipments to comply with FAA, DOA, FDA and US Customs regulations.
• Negotiate rates and space with the airlines, steam ship lines and truckers to obtain competitive rates when applicable.
• Provide quotations in response to customers and internal requests included overseas partners.
• Perform customer service duties with correspondence to customers and overseas partners, e-mails fax, etc.
• Assist Export Manager in special projects.
• Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
• Comply at all times with NNR USA standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient business operations.
• Attend meetings/training as required by management.
• Perform other duties as requested by management
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Education & Experience:
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree or equivalent 2 years industry supervisory experience.
• Proven understanding of the international freight forwarding business.
• An excellent understanding of TSA Safety regulations, U.S. FMC regulations and Federal Regulations that pertain to the international export of shipments.
• Basic training in ISO if applicable.
• Proficient with Microsoft applications.
• Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Physical requirements:
• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
• Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, frequently and/or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Salary : $60,000 - $65,000
