Manufacturing Systems and Quality Engineer (APS/QMS)

Your Mission
Take a new CNC part from concept to stable production. Lead APQP, validate tooling, write ironclad work instructions, and train operators so quality and cost goals are met from day one. You'll orchestrate cross-functional teams using our Project Launch Guide and the Autocam Production System (APS) to deliver on-time, to spec, and at target cost.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and standardize procedures and documentation with product teams to ensure repeatable, high-quality, cost-effective manufacturing.
- Guide capital equipment planning and execution—technical support through installation and release.
- Design, validate, and improve manufacturing processes and tooling for current production and new product launches.
- Lead APQP and continuous improvement; drive actions using APS and data.
- Maintain accurate process documentation, work instructions, and cost standards.
- Develop new-part quotations and update existing customer quotes with precision.
- Equip operators for success through training in machine operation, SPC, document use, and process optimization.
- Translate prints using GD&T to set tolerances, controls, and inspection plans.
- Ensure full compliance with QMS and EMS requirements.
Qualifications
- BS in Engineering or equivalent technical training plus 2 years of experience.
- Demonstrated problem-solving strength and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Proficient in technical documentation, cost estimating, and manufacturing software systems.
- Skilled at reading complex technical documents and communicating across all levels.
- Background with APQP, GD&T, and lean manufacturing principles.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Flexible schedule, averaging approximately 50 hours per week.
- Work in both office and manufacturing areas with exposure to noise and oil.
- Lift up to 30 lbs; perform tasks requiring close and distance vision.
