Job Duties and Responsibilities: Inventory Control Clerk position is responsible for all aspects of the NMSU inventory lifecycle from receiving to the disposition of the inventory. This includes the tagging of items received per NMSU requirements and ensuring property is delivered. The position works with NMSU departments to facilitate the disposition process of inventory which entails either the transfer of property for reuse by other departments using the RePete systems or to be sold for surplus or disposed of per NMSU policy.
NMSU is required to perform an inventory of property annually. Inventory Control Clerk assists in the processing of inventory forms during the process, receiving surplus property transferred by departments, facilitate the sale of surplus and providing general assistance to NMSU departments during the inventory process.
Vehicle titles and registrations for all vehicles owned by NMSU are maintained; tracking new registrations, distributing registrations and license plates, requesting duplicate titles or replacement license plates and ensuring all appropriate paperwork is in order to facilitate the sale of the vehicle once it is time to dispose of the vehicle.

Environment: Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
Physical Effort: Moderate physical activity.
Lifting Requirements: Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
Risk: Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
