Warehouse Manager K-12 (Competitive Pay + Benefits!) - LKSD - Bethel, Alaska

Job Description

Receiving all incoming freight, coordinating outgoing shipments by calling satellite units and completing orders via phone. Purchasing, receiving, inventory, storing, and associated record keeping of food service and housekeeping products and supplies as well as performing general cleaning and floor maintenance duties. This position also performs a variety of food preparation, stocking and serving duties in a school kitchen, storeroom, dining or serving area in remote Alaska .

This position is for the 2026-2027 school year and will start in July/August 2026

Responsibilities

• Maintains storerooms, shelves, loading docks, and walk in coolers by properly laying out and rotating products.
• Assigns Job duties for daily work to warehouse employees.
• Weekly freezer/dry store inventories and completing monthly inventory checklist.
• Logistic planning for outbound freight.
• Assist Production Manager with ordering incoming products.
• To load and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, vehicles, or shelves.
• Tracks weekly inventory from various Villages, inputs data and adheres to timelines.
• Works with other personnel to make sure all products and supplies will be available and ready as needed.
• Orders materials, products and supplies as they drop below established levels or as called for by others.
• Using field-developed methods keeps accurate records of invoices on purchases as well as initiates and monitors claims to shippers or vendors.
• Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled.
• Delivers, unloads, loads, stocks, cleans, rotates, or picks up materials or product from various locations.
• Uses various types of hand trucks to facilitate movement of materials or products.
• May operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
• Will be responsible for shipping supplies/food out to the villages.
• Maintains a variety of products at certain levels in preparation, serving, or storage areas including service machines.
• Stocks storage areas with various products.
• Assists with various periodically scheduled large projects.
• Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned.
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• One (1) year experience in a warehouse or freight environment.
• Two (2) years’ experience which evidences a knowledge of purchasing, material handling, inventory, stocking, the shipping and receiving of perishable items, or of cleaning processes and equipment.
• Basic computer skills in computer software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• A valid driver’s license and a 3-year driving record acceptable to the company's insurance carrier.
  
  

Preferred Requirements

• At least one year of experience which evidences a knowledge of purchasing, material handling, inventory, stocking, the shipping and receiving of perishable items, or of cleaning processes and equipment.

Description of environment: School setting working in a warehouse and commercial kitchen.

Constantly required to walk and stand. Frequently required to lift, pull and push. Occasionally required to climb. Rarely in cramped or confined spaces.

Physical requirements: Required to repeatedly lift 40 pounds and/or move up to 50 pounds.
