Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced SAP FS-RI Consultant with strong expertise in Reinsurance business processes and SAP FS-RI configuration/support. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in treaty and facultative reinsurance, reinsurance accounting, SAP Finance integrations, and end-to-end support activities across SIT, UAT, and production environments.
The candidate will work closely with Finance, Actuarial, and Business stakeholders to deliver functional solutions, resolve reconciliation issues, and support period-end close activities within a complex insurance/reinsurance ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze business requirements related to reinsurance processes and translate them into SAP FS-RI functional solutions
- Configure and support SAP FS-RI for treaty and facultative reinsurance structures
- Support proportional and non-proportional reinsurance configurations
- Set up and maintain treaties, contracts, sections, and participation structures
- Support premium calculations, estimations, postings, commissions, recoveries, and settlements
- Manage claims processing and reinsurance accounting activities
- Handle UPR, reinstatement premiums, and period-end reinsurance processing
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
- Coordinate integrations with SAP S/4HANA Finance (FI-GL, FI-AP, FI-AR) and SAP FS-CD
- Analyze posting logic, document flow, reconciliation issues, and data discrepancies
- Prepare functional specifications, configuration documents, and test scenarios
- Support SIT, UAT, defect resolution, and production support activities
- Participate in transport management, release cycles, and change management processes
- Provide knowledge transfer and mentoring support to junior/offshore team members
- Ensure compliance with audit, regulatory, and internal control requirements
Required Skills
- 10 years of SAP experience with at least 3 years of hands-on SAP FS-RI experience
- Strong hands-on expertise in SAP FS-RI configuration and support
- Deep understanding of Reinsurance business processes including:
- Treaty & Facultative Reinsurance
- Proportional & Non-Proportional Reinsurance
- Ceded & Assumed Reinsurance
- Experience with:
- Treaty/Contract Setup
- Premium Calculation
- EPI / UPR
- Claims & Recoveries
- Commissions & Settlements
- Strong understanding of reinsurance accounting principles
- Experience integrating SAP FS-RI with:
- SAP S/4HANA Finance (FI-GL, FI-AP, FI-AR)
- SAP FS-CD
- Exposure to SAP and non-SAP interfaces
- Basic ABAP debugging and log analysis knowledge
- Strong troubleshooting and reconciliation skills
- Insurance/Reinsurance industry experience is mandatory
