We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive support to healthcare providers and ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care across various medical settings. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help streamline clinic operations, enhance patient experiences, and uphold the highest standards of medical practice. Responsibilities

  • Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments in outpatient, inpatient, or emergency settings.
  • Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and patient symptoms accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
  • Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures, ensuring comfort, and managing intake processes efficiently.
  • Perform phlebotomy (blood draws), administer medications as directed, and support basic life support (BLS) protocols when necessary.
  • Maintain meticulous medical documentation, update patient records, and ensure compliance with medical records management standards.
  • Support clinical workflows by managing appointment scheduling, patient flow, and coordinating with other departments such as radiology for X-ray procedures or pharmacy for medication management.
  • Assist with specialized tasks including ECGs, specimen collection, wound care, and basic physiology assessments.
  • Uphold infection control protocols and ensure a safe environment for patients and staff at all times.

Experience

  • Prior experience working in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or emergency medicine environments is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in medical administrative support functions such as appointment scheduling, billing support, and EMR/EHR management.
  • Hands-on experience with phlebotomy, medication administration, vital signs collection, and medical documentation is required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and pharmacology enhances your effectiveness in this role.
  • Experience working within hospital settings—preferably Level I or Level II trauma centers—and outpatient clinics will be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner is essential for maintaining accurate electronic health records.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications like X-ray operation or advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) are a plus.
  • Inpatient experience in medical-surgical units or PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) environments will strengthen your candidacy.
