What You'll Do
- Perform high-quality transthoracic echocardiograms using 2D, spectral Doppler, and color flow Doppler imaging.
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring their comfort throughout the exam.
- Acquire accurate diagnostic images and generate preliminary findings for physician review.
- Maintain complete and accurate patient documentation within the electronic medical record.
- Communicate urgent or critical findings according to established protocols.
- Assist with ultrasound-guided procedures when needed.
- Perform additional ultrasound studies, including vascular or general ultrasound, if qualified.
- Ensure ultrasound equipment is properly maintained and functioning according to manufacturer guidelines.
- Follow all safety, infection prevention, and quality assurance standards.
- Travel between local clinic locations as needed.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technology program.
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) certification required.
- Minimum of 6 months of hands-on clinical experience after internship or externship.
- Two or more years of experience preferred.
- Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
- Strong patient care, communication, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced outpatient environment.
- Additional experience in vascular or general ultrasound is highly preferred.
