NLS Asphalt, a Subsidiary of The National Lime and Stone Company, a multi-plant natural resource company, has a full-time union position available for an Experienced Mechanic. Successful applicants will have the following background and attributes:
Qualifications:
- Ability to work Monday through Saturday (Sundays on occasion as needed.)
- High school diploma/GED
- Team player a must
- Attention to detail
- Enjoy working outdoors
- Skilled position dealing with the maintenance of all plant equipment and supporting equipment at an Asphalt plant site
- Analyzes malfunctions and repairs and rebuilds conveyors and crushing equipment.
- Works with plumbing and other functions of the plants
- Performs troubleshooting, repairs and preventative maintenance activities
- Tasks may include but are not limited to motors, pneumatic tools, hydraulic systems, conveyor systems, and production machines
- Experience welding broken parts and structural members and other items as necessary using stick welding processes and fabrication in the shop and in the field as needed
- Plans and performs regular maintenance and repair to small and large equipment, vehicles and heavy equipment including but not limited to, Skid Steers, Track Hoes, Loaders and vehicles
- Daily submission of electronic timecards and shift production reports as required by management.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, electrical systems, chassis and power-train systems
- Able to enter data in computer for completion of work orders and parts usage
- Maintains computerized and written records relating to the care and maintenance of equipment.
- Must be able to perform mechanical and electrical repairs.
- Performs, plans and records maintenance operations.
- Diagnose and repair different sorts of diesel and gas equipment
- Maintains shop in good clean condition
- Current drivers' license (Class A or B CDL with HazMat is a Plus)
- Safety-Oriented
- Production-Oriented and Ability to multi-task
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
