We are a progressive company seeking an energetic and skilled Database Administrator and Developer. Candidate will be responsible for ensuring the availability and security of our data and reporting platforms. They will also build reporting solutions to support business initiatives. This is a hybrid role based out of our company’s Norwich, CT location.
This role involves a combination of business intelligence analytics and database management, where the primary responsibilities include leading efforts to design, develop, monitor, test and optimize database systems and reporting solutions. The candidate will also apply a strong foundation in SQL programming and data modeling to deliver customized reporting solutions that align and support business goals. This position will be pivotal in the ongoing development and support of our database systems.

Requirements
- Design, develop and enhance Corporate Data Warehouse
- Generate document artifacts as a result of design and development work as well as for ongoing support and maintenance of database related initiatives
- Determine database requirements for projects and ensure that new projects comply with database strategies; translate detailed design into physical database structures and perform database testing; provide implementation and ongoing support
- Ensure database systems are available and secure; provide production support of database systems; establish, implement and enforce corporate standards for disaster recovery, data retention and security and monitor industry standards
- Perform database management tasks including backing up and restoring databases to ensure data accessibility
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and customize reports to support business goals and drive data-driven decision-making
- Develop data-driven reports, create Power BI dashboards, and design datasets for the reports to provide actionable insights for business decisions
- Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned
To qualify for this position you MUST have these required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience
- 3 years of experience as a database administrator on SQL Server 2012 or newer
- 3 years of experience in report writing
- Extensive working experience with Microsoft database and reporting technology stack
- Experience with programming and data warehouse design a strong plus
- Experience collaborating with the business, development and QA teams in a process-oriented organization
- Knowledge of or experience in Guidewire is a plus
- Knowledge of or experience with SAP is a plus
