Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join a high-performing PACU team in Oklahoma City, OK. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgical procedures while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and optimal clinical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to assigned patients in the PACU.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, documenting responses to treatments and nursing interventions.
- Administer medications, intravenous infusions, and blood products as prescribed.
- Observe physiological changes and respond appropriately to patient needs.
- Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
- Educate patients and families regarding care plans, procedures, and discharge instructions.
- Coordinate patient care with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Delegate tasks appropriately to support staff.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
- Adhere to hospital policies, nursing standards, and patient safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of RN PACU experience.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program.
- Strong knowledge of nursing practices, procedures, and patient care standards.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Basic computer proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher.
Required Certifications & Licensure
- Current Oklahoma RN License or active Multistate Compact RN License (eNLC).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – American Heart Association.
