A welcoming critical access hospital just outside Des Moines is seeking a PRN Emergency Room Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join its team. This is a single-provider coverage role with sporadic scheduling needs throughout the month — ideal for an experienced APP looking to supplement their practice with flexible, well-supported shifts in a modern facility.
What You'll Do

Provide single-APP emergency room coverage with inpatient responsibility

Round on a small inpatient census (4–5 patients/day, primarily swing bed — typically only a few require rounding)

Manage an ER volume of approximately 3,600 patients per year

Work alongside available general and orthopedic surgery support
Schedule

24-hour shifts

PRN — coverage needs are sporadic throughout the month

Requirements

Active NP or PA license (Iowa licensure)

Emergency medicine experience preferred
