Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to accurately identify patient needs.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans incorporating modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis.
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions focused on issues including grief, trauma (including PTSD), addiction, gender identity, developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and chronic pain management.
- Utilize crisis intervention techniques and crisis management protocols to support patients experiencing acute mental health episodes or behavioral crises.
- Engage in case management activities to coordinate patient care across multidisciplinary teams while maintaining HIPAA-compliant medical documentation and records.
- Apply research methods and data collection strategies to monitor treatment effectiveness and contribute to clinical research initiatives.
- Deliver specialized services such as behavioral therapy for pediatrics and geriatrics, working with children with disabilities or developmental delays, including special education settings.
- Utilize telehealth experience to extend access to mental health services remotely while adhering to medical terminology standards and CPT coding for billing purposes.
Skills
- Extensive experience in psychotherapy techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, grief counseling, addiction counseling, and PTSD care.
- Proficiency in motivational interviewing and behavior management strategies to foster patient engagement and positive change.
- Strong background in working with children, adolescents, adults with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and geriatrics populations.
- Skilled in crisis intervention, crisis management, and de-escalation techniques within inpatient or outpatient environments.
- Knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems for accurate diagnosis documentation; familiarity with CPT coding for billing purposes.
- Experience with medical records management ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations; familiarity with medical terminology related to behavioral health.
- Ability to deliver services via telehealth platforms effectively while maintaining clinical quality standards.
- Competence in conducting diagnostic evaluations using DSM criteria; experience with group therapy sessions and direct support roles.
