Roles And Responsibilities
- At the direction of the Senior Director, Deputy Chief Compliance Officer, and Chief Compliance Officer assists investigations relating to CEPA, Ethics, EPA, and/or other laws or policies.
- Compiles information from various sources and presents the information in an organized and efficient manner to advance internal investigations.
- Creates, tracks and maintains internal databases and reports regarding departmental and company-wide compliance initiatives and produces reports analyzing compliance data.
- Supports update of internal compliance-related reports, department audits and program/policy assessments.
- Maintains records and record management systems for all compliance-related complaints, ethics/CEPA forms and matters, including department records and all required forms.
- Under the direction of the Deputy Chief Compliance Officer, monitors and, as necessary, coordinates compliance activities of other departments to identify trends and recommend/innovate solutions.
- Research and track trends and developments in the public transportation industry to enable NJTRANSIT to stay abreast of any changes to industry best practices and implement changes to streamline corporate oversight and operating efficiencies.
- Performs other compliance and/or ethics related activities as directed by the Chief Compliance Officer, Deputy Chief Compliance Officer or Senior Director, Compliance & Ethics.
- Draft memoranda with proposed recommendations on matters relating to corporate compliance and oversight, e.g., Open Public Records Act, Open Public Meetings Act, statutory and regulatory issues, interpretation of corporate Bylaws, etc.
- Bachelor’s Degree, and two (2) years of compliance, legal, corporate governance, investigative or regulatory experience.
- Master’s degree/post-graduate degree is desired. Demonstrated ability to find solutions to compliance related issues.
- Experience writing reports documenting investigative actions or drafting memorandums providing analysis or advice is preferred.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skill is required. Strong technical database and record management skill required, including creating and populating spreadsheets and reports.
- Prior investigatory experience is preferred.
