Roles and Responsibilities:
- Directs all maintenance including conceptional planning and design. Provides cost effective maintenance which ensures safe, reliable and efficient Rail service.
- Directs the development, monitoring and control of maintenance schedules and budgets for maintenance programs.
- Coordinates maintenance efforts with inter-disciplinary departments and schedules programs with transportation service requirements. Ensures timely maintenance programs are completed with no adverse Rail service impacts.
- Develops maintenance practices and strategies for system-wide maintenance enhancement and improvement.
- Directs the management of department needs, including all personnel related matters. Assures maintenance programs are staffed at proper levels and personnel are trained in compliance with Federal, State and NJ TRANSIT requirements.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
- Baccalaureate Degree in Engineering, or related area and eight (8) years of experience in Railroad operations, maintenance, engineering, construction and maintenance.
- One (1) year of closely related experience may be substituted for each year of Education required.
