We are looking to hire an Assistant Superintendent, LRT Track - Riverline!

Summary:

• The Assistant Superintendent will be responsible but not limited to managing maintenance, inspections and repairs of the River LINE Infrastructure and ensuring everything is consistent with rules, regulations and safety standards. They will also be responsible for coordinating Capital Projects and ensuring they are completed in a timely manner and within budget.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Manages maintenance, construction, and inspection of the River LINE Infrastructure. Directs in-house forces and/or outside contractors in corrective actions to repair system defects.
• Ensures all maintenance is consistent with applicable safety and established standards.
• Supervises construction, testing, start-up and operations of River LINE track and Infrastructure projects. Oversees contracted services and provides support staff to assist same in capital project work. Provides technical support for new systems improvements and component design, procurement and manufacture.
• Trains assigned staff in proper procedures and troubleshooting techniques to maintain track systems in safe and reliable operating condition.
• Develops departmental goals and objectives, plans and organizes work and establishes necessary staffing levels to achieve goals and objectives. Identifies and prioritizes long and short-term capital projects and develops basic, preliminary design concepts and specifications so that projects can be progressed in the capital budget.
• Manages and motivates the track maintenance work force to obtain maximum productivity. Adheres to the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement including administering corrective disciplinary action, as necessary.
• Ensures system reliability by analyzing trends of track system failure and coordinates with Vehicle Maintenance and Transportation to initiate corrective action and eliminate repeat system failures.
• Ensures system reliability by tracking and analyzing building system failures and initiates corrective action and to eliminate repeat system failures.
• Reviews standardized inventory, improved reliability, safety and customer satisfaction by improving performance of the operation.
• Represents the River LINE and NJ Transit at meetings, presentations and regarding community relations issues, as required.

This Position Supervises:

• Light Rail Track Foreman - RL (2)

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Transportation, Business Administration, Engineering or related area or equivalent
• Seven (7) years of experience in rail transportation maintenance-of-way operations is preferred
• Six (6) years supervisory experience is preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

• Light rail maintenance-of-way (specifically track and signal infrastructure) and station/building facilities maintenance is desired.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal skills required.
