NJ Garage Doors has been installing and repairing garage doors in Bergen County and North Jersey since 2003. We run 10 trucks out of Carlstadt and Woodcliff Lake and we're an authorized Clopay, C.H.I. and LiftMaster dealer. We're adding a truck in Passaic County and need one experienced commercial and residential tech who lives in or near Wayne.
WHERE YOU'D WORK
Wayne, Totowa, Little Falls, Woodland Park, Pompton Lakes, Pequannock, Lincoln Park, Riverdale, Fairfield, Clifton, and the towns around them. You take the truck home, and most of your days stay in Passaic, western Bergen and northern Essex. We're hiring local on purpose - this truck is for this area.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Residential: torsion and extension springs, cables, rollers, openers (LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Genie), panel and full door installs (C.H.I., Clopay). Commercial: sectional and rolling steel doors, commercial operators (jackshaft and trolley, three-phase), high-lift and vertical-lift tracks, dock levelers and seals, fire doors. You need to be able to run both sides on your own and close jobs on site through Housecall Pro.
PAY
$30-$40 per hour. Start pay is set by a 30-minute hands-on test at our Carlstadt shop - torsion spring, rolling steel spring, commercial operator wiring, plus a diagnosis talk-through. Pass it and you start at the top of the range. Every hire starts on a 3-month probation; at 90 days we both decide whether it's working.
WHAT WE NEED
Valid NJ driver's license and clean driving record. Own hand tools. 3 years on garage doors with real commercial time you can show on the test. Lift certification a plus. Reliable, presentable, good with homeowners and property managers.
SCHEDULE
Monday-Friday, occasional Saturday. Paid emergency rotation. Take-home truck - no yard, no morning commute.
