Chief Examiner

Under direction of an Assistant Division Director, Department of Banking and Insurance, has charge of the statewide activities of the staff engaged in the supervision, regulation, and/or examination of financial institutions and other organizations and person chartered or licensed by the Department; does related work as required.

REQUIREMENTS

NOTE: Applicants must meet one of the following or a combination of both experience and education. Thirty (30) semester hour credits are equal to one (1) year of relevant experience.

Ten (10) years of professional experience as a regulator examining or auditing regulated financial institutions or, accounting or auditing experience in a regulated financial institution including, but not limited to, a bank, savings and loan association, and/or credit unions, three (3) years of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity, including or supplemented by nine (9) semester hour credits in accounting.

OR Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, finance, economics, or accounting, including or supplemented by nine (9) semester hour credits in accounting; and six (6) years of the above-mentioned professional experience, three (3) years of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity.

OR Possession of a valid certificate as a Certified Public Accountant issued by the New Jersey State Board of Accountancy may be substituted for the above education; and six (6) years of the above-mentioned professional experience, three (3) years of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity.
