Job Summary:
New Jersey Cataract and Laser Institute is a AAAHC accredited ambulatory surgery center providing high-quality opthalmic surgical care. We are seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead clinical operations and support a collaborative team of physicians,anesthesia, providers, and nursing staff. Position Overview:
The Director of Nursing provides clinical leadership and oversight of all nursing and clinical services within the ambulatory surgery center. The DON works closely with the Center Administrator and Medical Director to ensure safe, efficient surgical care and compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight for nursing services within the ambulatory surgery center.
- Ensure compliance with CMS Conditions for Coverage, NJ Department of Health Regulations, and AAAHC accrediation standards .
- Oversee the infection prevention and control program and environment of care.
- Lead the Quality Assesment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program.
- Ensure accurate clinical documentation and adherance to medication administration and patient care policies.
- Provide supervision, mentoring, and professionsl development for nursing staff.
- Maintain staff competancy validation and ongoing education programs.
- Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and administrative leadership to support efficiant surgical operations.
- Participate in regulatory survey preparation,policy development, and clinical process improvement initiatives .
Experience
- Proven experience in Ambulatory Surgery Centers with demonstrated expertise in managing diverse healthcare teams..
- Familiarity with EMR systems and EHR systems used for medical records management within healthcare facilities.
- Comprehensive understanding of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and the regulatory landscape governing Medicare services.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage shift operations effectively while fostering team collaboration.
Pay: From $50.00 per hour
