Reporting Relationships: This position will report to a Manager in the FP&A Group. Essential Job Responsibilities:
Reporting, Forecasting & Analysis
- Prepare rolling forecasts and update financial models throughout the year.
- Conduct variance analysis, identifying key cost drivers and providing recommendations to optimize spending.
- Develop and maintain financial models to improve forecasting accuracy and cost management.
- Respond to ad hoc requests from firm leadership and practice group leaders.
- Prepare and present financial metric related reports to senior management.
- Understand Partner Compensation and Overhead Expense allocations, which are maintained outside the general ledger.
- Act as the primary point of contact for industry surveys, ensuring accurate and timely data submission.
- Analyze survey results to provide benchmarking insights and assess company performance relative to industry peers.
- Summarize findings in reports and presentations for internal stakeholders.
- Assist in reporting and analyzing revenue to support decision-making.
- Gain an understanding of identifying key revenue drivers and assessing financial impacts.
- Assist with rate-setting analysis and alternative fee arrangement modeling.
- Partner with stakeholders to evaluate cost-saving opportunities and ensure financial efficiency.
- Support partners with matter profitability analysis and fee arrangements.
- Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business, Finance, Accounting or Economics or relevant experience. Master’s Degree preferred
- 5 years of Finance experience, with a strong focus on expense management and budgeting, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment
- Excellent PC skills, particularly in MS Excel and Access; including pivot tables, graphs, advanced formulas, and simple queries Proficiency working with multi-dimensional databases and query-writing a plus
- Advanced proficiency in financial tools (e.g., Budgeting Applications, GL system)
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI)
- Aptitude for quickly understanding, managing and manipulating data in an efficient manner
- Ability to develop processes (start to finish) and make complex reports easily repeatable
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills
- Solid written and oral communication skills
- Outstanding planning and organization skills with strong attention to detail
- Strong customer service experience and approach
