Location: Rochester, NY
- Prepare and distribute monthly pre-bills to assigned billing attorneys and practice assistants.
- Implement instructed revisions, transfers, rate changes and other requested billing adjustments.
- Prepare and submit invoices to clients.
- Provide billing research for current and past bills upon request.
- Monitor work-in-progress (WIP) and assist billing attorneys with minimizing unbilled WIP.
- Conduct detailed analysis of accounting and billing issues to reconcile discrepancies.
- Work collaboratively with collections to minimize accounts receivable issues and credit balances.
- Answer and respond to billing questions promptly.
- Monitor and respond to Billing Help Desk requests.
- Provide back-up assistance as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 0-1 years of billing experience, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.
- Associate’s Degree in business, finance or related field. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Work experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
- Excellent customer service skills and passion for continual improvement in results.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills including record keeping, data collection and systems information skills.
- Self-starter who is motivated to succeed.
- Ability to interact with attorneys, office staff and clients in a professional manner.
- Ability to compile, analyze and present data in a user-friendly format.
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks to meet strict deadlines.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work both individually as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
