Territory: Louisville Market

Reports To: Director of Sales

The Outside Sales Specialist is responsible for not only maintaining existing manufacturing and industrial accounts, but also generating new ones within the Louisville market. This position will be responsible for generating new projects for all services within Nix Industrial (Metal Fabrication, Machining, Media Blasting, Powder Coatings, Liquid Coatings, On-Site Coatings) in a variety of industries (manufacturing, transportation, commercial, heavy industrial, agricultural, and government). This position requires minimal overnight travel.

Our ideal candidate will…

  • Service existing manufacturing and industrial accounts with exceptional customer service.
  • Generate potential and new manufacturing and industrial accounts by qualifying potential leads.
  • Daily follow ups with customers and prospects using different touch points (email, phone, face to face, LinkedIn, virtual meetings, and cold calling)
  • Provide customers with product knowledge and design solutions for potential projects.
  • Provide Engineers, Project Managers, and Estimators with the necessary information to help generate designs, estimates, and proposals for customers.
  • Assist in the management of the project through the entire production lifecycle.
  • Ensures all company values are adhered to and promoted through leading by example and creating an environment of trust and teamwork.
  • Participates in all requested job-related training and development, as well as taking an active interest in improving skills with other training programs
  • Follows all company and common sense safety policies, while using required personal protective equipment


Desired Qualifications:

  • Sales or customer service experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred
  • Knowledge of metal fabrication and/or machining is preferred
  • The ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Self-motivated
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain professionalism in the workplace
  • Strong organizational skills
