Summary:
The main function of an electrical engineer is to design, develop, test or supervise the manufacturing and installation of electrical equipment, components, or systems for commercial, industrial, military or scientific use. A typical electrical engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings, and read and interpret blueprints.
Job Responsibilities:
• Supervise the design, development, and testing of the manufacture of electrical equipment, including machinery controls, wiring, and lighting.
• Review and approve the cost effectiveness, reliability and safety of certain design models.
• Discuss estimates for time and cost to complete projects with clients.
• Supervise the simulation and testing of machine/structure/system operation and monitor product quality.
• Direct and coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
· Inspect completed installations and observe operations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.

Position’s Contributions to Work Group:
Rigid Frame Truck Electrical Installation Team for Large Mining Trucks designs and supports electrical harnessing, cables, and associated hardware for the mining trucks tested in Tucson and built in Decatur, IL. The team’s design work is a blend of mechanical and electrical components. The core design team is in Tucson, AZ.
Responsible for using Creo and Electric Lines and Pro Cabling for the routing harnesses for Large Mining Trucks. Supporting the detailing and checking of prints. Supporting other engineering responsibilities such as cost rollups, FMEA, APQP, etc.
Typical task breakdown:
Design wire harness routings, support detailing, checking prints and present design reviews
Ensure designs follow design guides and best practices.
Collaborate with suppliers to procure material/parts
Support, cost rollups, FMEA, TFCs, Supplier collaboration, etc.
Interaction with team:
Frequent collaboration with team members in Tucson or other offices.
Will be collaborating with various other engineers in different functional areas, most of which are also located in the Tucson office.
Education & Experience Required:
Years of experience: 8 yr
Degree requirement: Bachelor’s degree in Accredited Engineering program (Mechanical or Electrical is preferred)
Not open to associates degrees
Master’s Degree and/or PHD can be considered

Mechanical and/or Electrical Product design experience. Extensive Creo, Teamcenter, and/or Fluid lines experience.
Ability to deeply collaborate with other design engineers and functional areas.
Attention to detail and ensure designs follow design guides and best practices while also acting with a sense of urgency in day-to-day tasks.
