QA/QC Lab Technician

POSITION SUMMARY

SUMMARY: Performs inspections, and assists with basic laboratory tests on assigned products for such purposes as quality control, process control, or product development and maintains documentation by performing the following duties. All duties are performed in a manner that is consistent with the goals and policies of the company, as well as in compliance with ISO standards, where applicable.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Conducts inspection/basic testing of assigned raw materials, intermediates and final products to verify conformity to specifications, as assigned.

Performs equipment maintenance and/or calibration, as assigned.

Processes incoming chemical releases and assists with maintenance of Quality Control files on released chemicals (i.e safety data sheets). Ensures that all records such as inventory, testing results and testing materials are updated and modified as necessary.

Performs data entry for testing results into Excel files.

Assists with preparing aliquots of QC testing material inventory. Performs testing on CFS material – optional per division.

Handles release of contract material and release of refiltrations – optional per division.

Maintains a clean and safe working environment in compliance with ISO and lab safety standards. Assists other Lab Technicians as directed and as needed.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A valid California Drivers License is desired in this position. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School diploma (or GED) with course work in Algebra and Chemistry and one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
