SUMMARY
The primary responsibilities of the AV Houseman are to support the successful execution of events through the setup, maintenance, and teardown of audiovisual and event-related equipment, while maintaining cleanliness and safety standards throughout event spaces and back-of-house areas. Closing shifts, 5pm-12am, available. Weekend availabiity is preferred.
PAY RANGE:
$16-22 per hour
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Guest Service
- Maintains guest service as the driving philosophy of the operation

- Ensures hotel standards and services contribute to the delivery of consistent guest service
Event Support
- Set up tables, chairs, staging, dance floors, and audiovisual systems and subsystems according to event diagrams and specifications.
- Tear down and properly store equipment and supplies after events.
- Follow event resumes, room diagrams, and verbal instructions to complete accurate setups.
- Interact professionally with staff, event planners, and guests, responding promptly to needs and requests.
- Perform light maintenance and repair tasks as assigned.
Facility Upkeep
- Maintain cleanliness of event spaces, hallways, service corridors, and storage areas.
- Keep all work and storage areas clean, organized, and free of obstructions.
- Empty trash and operate various types of cleaning equipment as needed.
- Assist with overall facility cleanliness before, during, and after events.
Teamwork and Communication
- Follow directions from Event Managers, Assistant General Manager, Manager on Duty, or Department Manager.
- Maintain a professional and service-oriented demeanor at all times.
- Collaborate effectively with fellow team members to ensure smooth and timely event execution.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in event setup, custodial work, or audiovisual support is a plus but not required.
- Must be a reliable team player.
LANGUAGE AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to read and comprehend room diagrams, simple instructions, event resumes, and memos.
- Ability to effectively communicate with coworkers, supervisors, and event staff.
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Demonstrate the ability to anticipate and solve problems quickly in a fast-paced environment.

- Must be able to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
