Nittany Eye Associates is looking to hire a Patient Care Coordinator for our multi-location practice. The Patient Care Coordinator is an in-office, customer service position. Patient Care Coordinators are responsible for checking patients in and out for their optometric visits, verifying and collecting insurance authorizations, scheduling appointments, answering incoming phone calls as well as various administrative functions and computer input. The Patient Care Coordinator will be trained and able to work in both the front desk and call center departments. It is a top priority that each patient interaction be handled in a friendly, professional and caring way. The successful support representative will be able to provide exceptional service while maintaining a positive, helping attitude during both busy and slow times. Rotating between offices is a part of the job and should be expected.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma at a minimum
- Multi-line phone answering experience
- Ability to communicate with patients and guests including greeting them upon arrival, confirming identity and providing necessary information related to their visit
- Demonstrated experience working in a medical office environment
- Demonstrated experience with office productivity equipment (copying, faxing and scanning)
- Proficiency with MS Offices products and demonstrated keyboarding skills
- Experience with Medical Records systems a plus
- Strong customer service skills with both staff and customers/patients
- Must have flexibility to change schedule and possibly work some evenings, or some early mornings
