Nitta Gelatin, a leading multi-site manufacturing company, is looking for an experienced Sales & Business Development Manager to drive growth across the Western United States. This remote role offers flexibility in location, with candidates based in the Midwest or Western U.S. strongly preferred.

Nitta Gelatin is a global manufacturer of gelatin and collagen peptides with over 100 years of history. Our company focuses on harnessing natural collagen to produce a variety of products for use in numerous food, nutritional and pharmaceutical applications. We are a diverse and dynamic company focused on providing our customers with exceptional quality and customer service.

The Western US Sales and Business Development Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining long-term relationships with assigned account portfolio, connecting with all stakeholders, from key decision makers to technical/QA to logistics personnel. This position is liaison between customers and the internal support team at Nitta Gelatin, with the objective to ensure timely and successful delivery of product according to customer needs.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

· Represent Nitta Gelatin in a professional manner, applying corporate philosophy always.

· Profitably manage sales of Nitta Gelatin products. Meet volume, sales, and profitability targets in the territory for gelatin and collagen peptides.

· Market Nitta Gelatin products; identify or develop appropriate products, pricing and logistics for each customer.

· Collaborate with R&D and technical Managers to look for new product lines

· Manage customer relationships, coordinate contracts, negotiations, quotes, orders, forecasts, technical issues, projects, logistics with internal personnel.

· Develop new customers and maintain potential customer relationships according to company targets and objectives.

· Plan strategic account management

· Participate in creating annual sales goals, market strategy and strategic sales plan.

· Involved in more in-depth sales with strong technical knowledge base

· Maintain sales planning tools and communications in a timely fashion: forecasting, orders, weekly/monthly reports, project management as required by management.

· Maintain files on customers in CRM as required by management (meeting reports, contracts, supply agreements, etc.)

· Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the food, beverage and nutritional supplement markets, applications and trends

· Monitor the competitive environment to facilitate business development and to keep management and other team members informed of changes and developments in the market.

· Achieve sales budget goals set by NGNA management.

· Maintain high customer satisfaction ratings to meet company standards.

· Develop new customers as outlined in company targets.

· Actively participate in trade associations to expand network and customer contacts

· Build and manage an opportunity pipeline to support territory growth targets.

· Good working relationship with internal colleagues: management, customer service, sales team, technical/QA and supply chain.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Must follow food safety regulations.

· This position has the capability to allow for a remote or hybrid work schedule. Please refer to our Telecommuting Policy as outlined in our handbook.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

· Minimum 5 years ingredient sales experience is required – food, nutritional supplement, or pharmaceutical - sales and/or business development calling on food, beverage, and nutritional supplement companies and deep understanding of, and contact in, those markets. Gelatin, collagen or hydrocolloid experience would be a plus.

· Confirmed experience handling multiple projects or tasks at one time.

· Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence effectively, to meet customer needs and employer objectives.

· Proven ability to sell ingredients to multiple buying influences (including purchasing, marketing, and R&D.

· Intermediate computer skills – Microsoft Office programs. Familiarity with Salesforce.com preferred.

· Overnight domestic and occasional international travel 40%; must have valid passport and driver’s license.

Pay Range: starting at 105k, DOE & up to a 30k bonus

Salary : $105,000
