May take vital signs.Job Responsibilities:Answers clients call signalsAssists in administration of medications and treatments, takes vital signs, and/or draws blood or collects other bodily fluids, as directed by a physician or nurseBathes, grooms, shave and dresses clientsConducts activities for recreation and socializationEnsures safety and security of clientsFeeds clients who are unable to feed themselvesObserves and documents patient data, behavior and activityPrepares clients for treatment or examinationProvides clients with help walking, exercising, and moving in and out of bedTransports and/or accompanies clients to treatment units, using a wheelchair or stretcherReceives additional training, as required, to gain full proficiency and experience in all areas.Minimum Requirements:High school diploma or GED and 2 years of continuous experience providing basic patient care in psychiatric healthcare is required.Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. and have the strength to push and pull and stand for long periods of time.Current Life Saver Certification is required.
