Location: VA Medical Center 4815 N. Assembly St. Spokane, WA 99205
Pay Rate: $30.00 per hour.

Schedule: 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, 7:30am–4:00pm, not to exceed 40 hours per week.
Indexing Productivity Standards:
- 15 Administrative documents per hour
- 10 NVCC/Fee (Non-VA Care) documents per hour
- 100% self-QA on all indexed records
Medical Coding Requirements:
The Coder is responsible for providing accurate and complete medical coding services in accordance with VA guidelines, ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS coding standards. The contractor must maintain an overall coding accuracy rate of 95% or above.
Coding Productivity Standards (per coder per day):
- Observation – non-billable: 4 per day
- Observation – Billable: 3 per day
- Inpatient – Billable: 3 per day
- Inpatient – non-billable: 5 per day
- Outpatient / Recurring / Pro Fees: 30 per day
- Surgery: 7 per day
- Prosthetics: 30 per day
All coding must comply with the following requirements:
- Maintain an overall coding accuracy of 95% or above across all record types.
- Coding shall be performed in accordance with current Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting.
- All diagnoses and procedures must be coded to the highest degree of specificity.
- Queries to providers, when required, must be completed in a timely and compliant manner.
- Coders must be credentialed (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or equivalent) and demonstrate knowledge of VA-specific coding requirements.
