The Mechanical Design Engineer’s responsibilities include
- Product development for Component and System Product Assemblies for our Ion Implantation Systems.
- Develop conceptual designs based on Product Marketing requests and brainstorming sessions. The typical brainstorming team would be scientist s and senior engineering members.
- Perform the detailed design , which involves engineering calculations and FEA si mulation, when necessary, to ensure that the design will meet its requirements.
- Design for Cost, Reliability, Safety , and Serviceability
- Documentation generation. Assembly Drawings, BOM’s, and A ssem bly P rocedures using A rena PLM.
- Prototype assembly and testing.
- BS in Mechanical Engineering.
- Expert skills in Solid W orks 3D CAD Design .
- Working knowledge of SolidWorks PDM
- FEA Simulation experience with thermal and mechanical stress is desirable.
- Most of our system equipment operates in a vacuum environment. Experience with vacuum system design is desirabl e.
- Knowledge of Manufacturing Techniques .
- Ability and willingness to be hands-on in a lab environment for prototype assembly and testing.
- Ability to work with a cross-functional team of scientists , engineers , procurement team , and laboratory staff.
