Essential Responsibility:
- This position will report to the Manufacturing Manager and is responsible for MFG, C and D shift teams in the following areas. Safety (special attention to 5S), Quality, Productivity and Mission zero activities along with all mandated company policies.
List of Key Tasks / Primary Responsibilities:
- Assisting to Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintaining a safe, secure, and legal work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.
- Accomplish staff (labor) results by communicating job expectations and key customer expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.
- Working with Night Shift Supervisors in accomplishing financial objectives by meeting daily targets and achieving productivity requirements with the proper scheduling of machines and employee allocation; minimizing overtime; managing cost within the department per budget requirements; analyzing and presenting variances in graphical annotations; initiating corrective actions based on data and trend analysis.
- Lead all CFT teams within the Manufacting Process. Train both Supervisors and all Team Leaders of CFT activities, follow up on operator CFT training. Productivity, Changeover, Guidelines, Preform, Plate Treatment and Training.
- Understand, analyze, recommend, and implement Kaizen activities within the Latter & Prior Processes. Continuous Improvement to eliminate customer complaints, minimize hold tags and reduce overall reject ratio.
Instruct and train supervisors and team leders on 5S. Instruct operators to follow the 5S requirements per daily shift guideline and require supervisors and team leasers to audit the teams performance on a daily basis to improve the bottom line of plant performance.
Utilize digital transformation (DX) and utilize and understand complete working of PMS and PADS system. Training all supervisors in all DX activities that should help in seeing all KPI's on a real time basis in areas of productivity, downtime, reject ratio, labor/machine allocattion and productivity indexes. Need 100% commitment to achieve these goals.
- Improve quality by ensuring the proper guidelines are followed; Boundary Sample Checks, First piece Checks, Change-over and operator training. Root Cause and Drain cause investigations to be completed for Customer Complaints and Hold tags, along with clear documented communication to all team members for each shift.
- Establish strategic goals by analyzing KPI results such as reject ratio, productivity, tact time for each line, labors hours etc.
- Achieve smooth launching new project or changes to current product; by communicating to Supervisors, Team Leaders and Operators; proper training is critical; to meeting customer demand and reducing excess inventory on hand.
- Work close with Manager, Senior Supervisors, Shift Supervisors and Manufacturing Advisor to improve the company's KPI's. Labor Control, Safety, Quality, Productivity and Cost.
Education /Certifications & Experience: • High School Diploma/ GED
Required Skills and Knowledge:
- 5 years manufacturing related job experience
- Able to perform internal audits for both quality & productivity. Focus point is operator methods in both Prior and Latter Processes.
- Manages Time and Resources by using tools provided by the Company (phone, fax, e-mail) in order to maximize productivity and to accomplish tasks on time.
- Keeps Management Informed by participating in meetings; and by reporting problems to Manager/Advisor verbally or in writing in order to avoid confusion and further problems. (CFT Teams are critical for achieving Mission Zero)
- Performs General Administrative Duties by writing and distributing reports and other correspondence; by accurately filing and maintaining documents; by making copies; and by performing other administrative duties as needed.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with employees, customers, suppliers and supervisors. This means having good written and verbal communication skills and an ability to lead people, troubleshoot problems and help teams collaborate as necessary. A senior supervisor should also be able to effectively articulate needs, convey information and provide status updates to upper management in the company.
- Solve problems ranging from the simple to the complex with a clear head, a calm demeanor and an ability to have pinpoint focus when necessary; by having a strong internal fortitude that enables them to help staffers assess and resolve issues, all while maintaining the integrity of the organization.
- Able to continuous KAIZEN activity; Productivity, Changeover, Guidelines, Preform and Plate Treatment (backing plate sorting)
- Must communicate with the SCM department on concerns; customer shipment due dates; supply shortages and needs.
- Scheduling Shipments; Machine scheduling & Employee allocation Prior & Latter Processes

Mathematical Skills
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Good working knowledge of MS office and basic skills to develop Excel sheets and draw graphs to share improvement results with Management team. Able to present their results in PowerPoint for presentation to utilize PDCA methodology.
- Ability to apply knowledge and sense of understanding to carry-out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to develop work instruction, procedures, 1-Point instructions and standard guidelines to eliminate confusion.
- Ability to use a computer and such applications as Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint and be able to design custom reports as necessary.
