The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating daily manufacturing operations to ensure production targets, safety standards, and quality requirements are consistently achieved. This role provides direct leadership to production employees, manages workflow, and ensures efficient utilization of labor, materials, and equipment. The Production Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining operational discipline, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a safe and productive work environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise daily production activities to ensure operational efficiency and adherence to production schedules.
  • Direct and coordinate the work of production employees to meet output, quality, and safety objectives.
  • Monitor manufacturing processes and ensure compliance with company procedures, work instructions, and quality standards.
  • Identify production issues and implement timely corrective actions to minimize downtime and disruptions.
  • Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, quality, and logistics teams to ensure smooth plant operations.
  • Promote and enforce all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements across the production floor.
  • Conduct shift meetings and communicate production goals, safety updates, and operational priorities to team members.
  • Train, coach, and mentor employees to develop skills, improve performance, and support workforce development.
  • Maintain accurate production documentation, including shift reports, production logs, and incident records.
  • Support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, efficiency, and waste reduction.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping and organization in accordance with 5S or plant standards.
  • Address employee concerns, maintain positive employee relations, and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Participate in investigations of safety incidents, quality issues, and operational disruptions.
  • Assist in workforce planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet operational demands.

 

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Provide clear direction, guidance, and accountability for production team members.
  • Foster a culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence.
  • Support employee engagement, teamwork, and communication across shifts and departments.
  • Participate in employee performance reviews and development planning.
  • Support disciplinary actions and ensure consistent enforcement of company policies.
Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 5–7 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial production environment.
  • 3 years’ experience in a supervisory or team leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and production workflows.
  • Ability to interpret production schedules, operational reports, and technical documentation.

Salary : $75,000 - $85,000
